From 1 January 2020, there will be changes to the City of Onkaparinga’s green / organics service. As part of the changes, kerbside green / organics bins will be collected fortnightly instead of every four weeks. Bin collection dates can be found on the Bin Collection Dates page or download the My Local Services app.

Council will also be providing compostable bags free of charge for 12 months for residents to collect kitchen scraps and recycle them through the green organics collection service. Following this initial period, the bags will be available for purchase. Residents will be able to pick up a roll of bags from council offices from Monday 2 December 2019.

The move to fortnightly collections will require changes of collection days or sequences affecting a few households and businesses. They will be notified directly in late November and provided with relevant information.

For information on what can be recycled in the green organics bin visit our Recycling and Disposal Guide at https://www.onkaparingacity.com/Services-and-projects/Waste-and-recycling/Recycling-and-disposal-guide

Please note: the existing bulk green organics drop off service will continue and has not been affected by the changes.
