Even though it was a cold, overcast day the crowds still came out for the 2018 Aldinga Bay Community Carols. The craft stalls and children activities were a plenty, keeping the children very busy for the two-hour carnival time. Smokey the Koala paid a visit, along with Dorothy the Dinosaur and Minnie Mouse. During the evening, Chloe Smith was brave enough to shave her dreads, raising funds for ‘Hair for Hope’ – a cause endeavouring to fund the building of a Safe House in Uganda. These FREE carnival activities possible because of the support of local businesses, particularly mentioning the GOLD sponsors – City of Onkaparinga, Home Grain Bakery, Jemma Turner-Magain Real Estate and Sign Colour.

Leon Bignell MP opened the carols event for the first time this year supporting the residents of Mawson which he is committed to. The guest artists, Zen Panda and Daniel Larcombe, kept the audience of all ages entertained for the evening of singing carols. The choir consisted of children from the Southern Vales Christian College and members of the public, as well as the children from Aldinga Bay Baptist Church Sunday School make it a pleasant evening for all. Santa arrived in his police escort, wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you community for your support for this event, and the committee looks forward to seeing you again in 2019.
