The Willunga Recreation Park are running a major fundraiser towards the new redevelopment funds with the Chilli Fest Willunga to be held on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of February.

This weekend will be Quarry Market weekend and we have invited the Artisan Market stall holders to be a part of the Chilli Fest to add some variety.

The Festival Hall [basketball stadium] will be filled with all things chilli, chilli products and stallholders, with chill cooking demonstrations from locals Chef Dennis of the Old Bush Inn, Nicole Gelsi, plus Alex Marchetti the Inn Keeper at the Salopian Inn will be showing us how to make a chilli cocktail, Wendy Ashwin of Four Winds Chocolate will also demonstrate chilli inspired chocolate delicacies.

Food and wine will be supplied by Shifty Lizard and Sabella Vineyards, complimented by nachos from Whites Valley Jalapenos, Shredded Wrap and dumplings by The Contented Teapot; outside under the shade by the Show Hall accompanied by live music ddToc and Dustbowl Chic.

Activities for all the family will include decorating your chilli pot with Bunnings on Saturday and chilli wreath making in Sunday with Hope Deane, plus Bendigo Bank colouring in.

Chillies will also be spread around the town, across the weekend to denote the businesses who have been ‘chilli inspired’, as we would like our visitors to visit the many unique places with in Willunga,

At the Bar we will sell, Caronas, Sangria and Icecreams (i.e. chilli neutralisers). We will use the Festival Hall Bar area.
