On Saturday night (March 28th), a section of the Aldinga Scrub was once again on fire. This occurred around 8.30pm and the smoke could be smelt in nearby houses quite quickly. Despite reports of difficult access for our fire fighters the fire was under control quickly.

Readers might recall that this is not the first time in recent months that the Scrub has been on fire. While ABRA is not able to confirm the cause of this fire, it has been widely reported that previous fires in the Scrub have led to arrests.

At a recent ABRA public meeting, with the CFS in attendance, members of the community raised the concerns around access to the Aldinga Scrub for fire trucks. ABRA will be in contact with the Government Departments to address this issue.

While are very fortunate to have a fast acting, incredible group of fire fighting volunteers. On behalf of the Aldinga Community, I would like to thank them for their excellent work once again.

If anyone has any information about the fire, please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
