Rebekha Sharkie took the time to purchase a copy of Willunga Environment Centre’s “Birds of the Willunga Basin” while visiting the Centre. She is seen here with Committee Member Joy Forrest and YACCA founder Saskia Gerhardy (who, coincidentally, was a rival candidate to Rebekha in the recent Federal election)

Committee members and volunteers of the Willunga Environment Centre were delighted to receive local Federal MP Rebekha Sharkie as their guest for morning tea today. (Tuesday 18th June.)

Rebekha is a good friend of the Centre, having helped them out on many occasions in the past and is a particularly strong supporter of the YACCA youth group.

On behalf of the Environment Centre, Chairperson Kerrod Trott acknowledged Rebekha’s outspoken support for environmental protection issues in Federal Parliament, with particular regard to the Murray Darling Basin and oil drilling in the Great Australian Bight.

In return, Rebekha spoke of the high regard in which the Willunga Environment Centre is held in the local community and offered a wealth of useful advice and referrals to assist them in their future activities.
