Residents of Normanville, Yankalilla and surrounding areas who are interested in belonging to a group whose intentions are to represent ALL on the many local matters, are invited to join us on Thursday 17th October at 6.00 pm, at The Centre, (Next to Yankalilla Library).
Recently we have been presented with a number of sensitive issues concerning Council Rates, Council Staffing, lack of open communication, lack of consultative processes with regard to proposed projects, coastline protection, tourism and employment opportunities particularly for the young, etc.
The Residents Association will have the benefit of being a cohesive and reputable body which would effectively cooperate and communicate with the Yankalilla Council, its elected members and administration, so that favourable outcomes that reflect community consultation can be reached.
It is proposed that the Association will develop an action plan to develop projects in which residents can take part.
There are many in the community who have approached the Yankalilla Council singularly with little success. However, a voice representing many has a much better chance of being heard.
A Working Party has met several times and has drafted a Statement of Purpose after doing a SWOT analysis. These documents will be available at the meeting.
Please consider our invitation seriously. We welcome your voice.
We look forward seeing you on October 17th at 6.00 pm the Community Centre. to consider the ideas put forward at Working Party meetings and to draft an action plan.
The Working Party members.
