Did you know that the residents of Sellicks Beach, Aldinga Beach and surrounds have access to a precious, seasonal wetland precinct that still bears traces of the vegetation, fauna and Kaurna heritage that existed prior to European settlement?

Nestled between Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park and Sellicks Beach, the Washpool and Blue Lagoon is a rare and special seasonal wetland with migratory bird species, diverse aquatic life, and is of special cultural significance to Kaurna People.

You’re invited to join a tour with an environmental or cultural expert, search for migratory birds through binoculars and telescopes, meet members of the Kaurna community and chat with locals who have been caring for the site for many years.
