Time is running out to have your say on the Main South Road Duplication project with community consultation ending on Friday 28th of May 2021
Community members are being asked to choose between two scenarios with previously promised funding split between the Main South Project and improvements on Victor Harbor Road.
At a recent public ABRA meeting, an overwhelming majority of members present expressed disappointment with the funding being split between the two roads and the two options being proposed with many members reporting that they feel the proposals put McLaren Vale, Sellicks and Aldinga communities against each other.
If you share this feeling, please make sure your voice is heard by filling out the Department’s consultation survey via this link Main South Road and Victor Harbor Road Duplication Projects (alchemer.com) before the 28th of May. ABRA has met with both the Department and the Minister in recent days to pass on these concerns, but politicians need to know that this is an especially important issue heading into Federal and State Elections over the next 12 months.
ABRA welcomes the progress on this important upgrade to date, but we need to stand firm as a community to ensure this project is done right the first time. The Department has confirmed that they will consider the feedback and release an updated design in the coming months that will hopefully address specific concerns raised over several intersections including the lack of ‘East to West’ connectivity and turning options over and into Main South Road.
ABRA continues to proudly support the work of the Main South Road Action Group in their work to advocate for the community on this project. You can keep up to date with their work via their Facebook page www.facebook.com/SeafordtoSellicks
